Individual Therapy

In-person in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and online across New York State

You want life to feel fulfilling, meaningful, and vibrant, but you can’t seem to break the cycles that keep you stuck. Maybe you’ve molded yourself to appease others and now you don’t know who you are anymore. Individual therapy gives you the space to come back home to yourself, figure out what you truly want, and start taking steps towards living life on your own terms.

What to expect

We'll start by clarifying what you need from therapy and exploring which approaches might work best for you. From there, we’ll meet weekly as we build comfort and trust together, sharing feedback as we go along. We can always change the approach or cadence of your sessions as your needs change. Sessions are offered in-person in Brooklyn and Manhattan, and virtually for clients across New York State.

Our approach

Our therapists integrate various modalities to match the complexities of your being. We take a somatic, relational, creative approach while drawing from our favorite therapy acronyms — ACT, EMDR, IFS (parts work), and ERP (exposure therapy). If you've heard of some of these and want to know more, we're happy to talk through what might be a good fit during your consultation.

This might be for you if...

  • You feel stuck in your head with worrying, overthinking, and OCD cycles

  • You feel disconnected from your body, your identity, or like you’re living life through a hazy film without clear direction

  • Trauma — recent or old — is showing up in ways you didn't expect

  • You want healthier and deeper relationships but struggle to open up to others

  • You're in a creative field and something keeps getting in the way of your work

  • You're queer, trans, or navigating identity in a world that doesn't always make room for you

You may be wondering…

  • Book directly using the links on this page or head over to the contact page. We’ll follow up by connecting you with a recommended therapist who will schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to ensure it feels like the right fit.

If it feels aligned & you’re ready, you’ll schedule your intake session on the call.

  • During your first session, we’ll use the whole hour to conduct an intake assessment. We’ll identify your most pressing concerns, assess current environmental factors, and learn more about your background. We’ll finish by identifying 1-3 goals for you in therapy. It’s a lot of information-gathering, so it’s a bit more structured than other sessions.

  • Sessions can be as structrured or unstructured as you like. Talking is a part of it, but we also emphasize experiential work (like meditations, somatic practices, exposures/experiments, visual demonstrations, creative expression, guided trauma work, etc).

We’ll have time at the start to decide where we want to go, and time at the end to reflect on what we learned.

  • For as little or as long as you’d like. Some people like to keep therapy open-ended, some like to have set goals or progress they’d like to achieve before ending, and others want a specific, time-limited treatment approach (especially for EMDR and intensives). We work with it all.

  • We accept credit card, cash, Venmo, Zelle, HSA/FSA, and PayPal, and payment is due at the time of service. We keep one credit card on file but can change your payment type whenever you’d like.

  • Everything you share with us is confidential unless you’d like us to collaborate with other providers or loved ones - in which case, we’ll get your written permission for doing so.

The one exception: if your therapist has serious concern that you or someone else is in immediate danger, we're legally required to inform the appropriate people or institutions. This is genuinely rare and our last resort. We take a lot of preventative steps to protect your privacy and connect you with community supports.

We’re ready when you are.

We’ll start with a free 15-minute phone consultation to hear more about your needs, answer any questions you have, and assess fit.

We’re out of network providers. We don’t bill your insurance directly, but we can give you receipts for out of network reimbursement if needed. We take HSA/FSA and have a few sliding scale spots for those in need. Fees vary by clinician and session length.
