If you’re struggling to understand why you think, feel, and act in certain ways, Internal Family Systems (IFS or “parts work”) offers a gentle way to see yourself in a new light. We start by identifying different "parts" of you — the inner critic, the people-pleaser, the one who shuts down, the one who rages. Rather than resisting these parts, we help you get curious and consider what each part might be protecting. The process can feel deep, meditative, and transformative, but we only go at the pace your system allows.

  • Talk therapy often focuses on understanding your patterns and shifting your thinking. IFS does something a little different — instead of analyzing a feeling from the outside, we help you turn toward it, get to know it, and understand what it's been trying to do for you. Most people find this gets them somewhere that insight alone hasn't.

  • Not at all. You don't need to come in with any framework or vocabulary. Your therapist will guide you through it naturally, and most clients pick it up quickly because it maps onto something they already intuitively feel — that different situations bring out different sides of them, and some of those sides are carrying more than they should.

  • Both. We have offices in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and West Village, Manhattan - and see clients virtually throughout New York state.

  • We’re an out of network provider, so we don’t directly bill insurance. We can give you receipts for out of network reimbursement, we take HSA/FSA, and have a limited number of sliding scale spots available.
