Exposure Therapy for OCD
ACT-informed ERP in NYC
Maybe you can relate…
You get caught in loops of worrying, reviewing, strategizing, checking, seeking reassurance, and consulting google and AI, only to get momentary relief
You avoid certain situations, places, thoughts, or opportunities because it feels like the only way to keep the anxiety at bay
You feel shame or embarassment about your thoughts and fears
You're exhausted from navigating the internal battle while pretending to be fine on the outside
You’ve tried talk therapy and felt like it wasn’t enough, or tried traditional Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and felt like it was too much
We approach exposure therapy differently
We blend Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to create a flexible, values-based approach.
It's trauma-informed and queer-affirming. We bring somatic awareness, mindfulness, and acceptance strategies into exposure work, prioritizing your consent at every step. We adjust exposures to accommodate the realities of living in a queer and/or trans body.
It's client-centered. We don’t just do exposures for the sake of doing them. Your values and goals are what guide the work.
It's flexible. We adapt exposures for the complexities of your identity, your capacity, and neurodivergence.
It's about building a rich, meaningful life. We're helping you build a life where OCD has less power over what you do and who you become.

You might be wondering…
-
No. ERP is collaborative — we build an exposure plan together, starting with what feels manageable and working up from there. You're never ambushed or pushed past what you've agreed to. The goal is to stretch your window of tolerance, not blow past it. Most clients are surprised by how quickly things that felt impossible start to feel boring.
-
A lot of people don't recognize it in themselves because it doesn't look like the stereotypes. OCD isn't always about hand-washing or symmetry — it can show up as intrusive thoughts, mental rituals, constant reassurance-seeking, or avoiding things that trigger a spiral. If you're spending real energy managing something invisible, it's worth exploring in a consultation.
